In summer 2013 Rugby Borough Council invited a team of independent local government experts to review how well the council delivers services for its residents and businesses.

The review found that Rugby Borough Council is a good council. It found that we have a track record for engaging with residents and businesses and making things better for them, and that we have done so in a difficult and challenging economic environment.

Peer challenges are improvement-focused and tailored to meet individual council's needs. They are designed to complement and add value to a council's own performance and improvement focus. The peer team used their experience and knowledge of local government to reflect on the information presented to them by people they met, things they saw and material that they read.
