Preparing for emergencies - what you can do

By being informed and being prepared, you can significantly reduce the risk to life and property in an emergency.

Warwickshire Prepared has produced a guide, Preparing for Emergencies in Warwickshire, explaining how you can help yourself and your family in emergencies.

Go In, Stay In, Tune In

Around the world, the 'Go In, Stay In, Tune In' message has become established as the best advice to give communities in the case of an emergency.

Go In - go inside a safe building

Stay In - stay inside until you're advised it's safe to leave

Tune In - tune into a local radio or television station for more information

In an emergency, radio and television stations give public safety advice and information about the incident.

Preparing for emergencies - what we do

Under the Civil Contingencies Act, we have a duty to put plans in place to deal with serious incidents.

As a member of Warwickshire Prepared, the county's Local Resilience Forum (LRF), we work with all emergency response agencies in the county to draw up plans to deal with emergencies.
